AAND UAS Informational Workshop and Summer Meetings

AAND Summer Meetings

Individuals can participate in any or all events. Pre-registration is required. 

Purpose: Gather interested airports, agency, and consultant personnel to discuss current hot topics, future Fly-ND conference, and upcoming legislative initiatives.  Participate in an activity that promotes relationship building with others in the same industry.  Raise money for scholarship contributions or to build endowment.

Format: 

Day 1-Tuesday, August 8th

Plan to arrive by 9AM. The UAS informational workshop will include information and tours of the following: 

9AM- 11AM

Grand Sky

General Atomics

Northrop Grumman 

VANTIS/MNOC


11AM - Noon

Lunch will be provided.

Noon - 3PM 

Opportunities for open discussion 


Day 2-Wednesday, August 9th  ($25)

1PM - 5PM 

Arrive at Woodland Resort Devils Lake, ND (Meeting room is on second floor of main resort) 

Meet until 5:00 pm, adjourn for happy hour and dinner on your own.



Day 3-Thursday August 10th

Meet at the baitshop for fishing event instructions and tips at 6:30 am

Fishing begins at 7:00 AM

Fish until 1:00 PM, weigh in and clean fish  (each team weighs their biggest 5)

Fish fry and awards at Proz Lakeside Bar at 3:00 PM

Free to head home, go back out and fish, or resume happy hour

Book your own room.  The resort has a block of hotel rooms and a couple suites held for us.  There are also a couple of cabins.

We will be asking for volunteers to bring and captain a boat for either their pre-arranged team or be open to taking additional team members.

Woodland resort has rental boats available, reserve them early.

Woodland also has a guide service that can take your group out.




The North Dakota Aviation Association’s objectives are accomplished through volunteers, and support from the industry and event participants.
