History
In 2020, the NDAA established a fund to provide financial assistance to High School Juniors, Seniors or recent GED recipients who plan to pursue advanced education in the field of aviation. Students planning to attend post-secondary education in the areas of Professional Pilot, Aviation Maintenance, Aviation Engineering, Unmanned Aircraft Systems, Airport/Aviation Management, Atmospheric Sciences, Air Traffic Control, or other aviation-related fields are eligible to apply. Scholarships can be used at local Part 61 Flight Schools.
Eligibility Requirements:
- High School Juniors, Seniors, or recent GED recipients
- Current student 16-22 years old
- Plans to attend post/secondary education or flight training in North Dakota
- Exhibits leadership, self-motivation, respect for others, honesty, and dependability

Educational focus of: Professional Pilot, Aviation Maintenance, Aviation Engineering, Unmanned Aircraft Systems, Airport Management, Atmospheric Sciences, Air Traffic Control, or other related aviation fields.
Selection Criteria:
The NDAA scholarship selection committee will make the selection of the awarded recipient based solely on the contents of the application packet. Evaluation will be based on passion for aviation, comprehension, organization, and creativity. Scholarship recipients will be announced during the Fly-ND Career Expo on October 9, 2025. Be sure to complete every part of the application packet. This includes the completed application form, essay, letter of recommendation, and a resume/additional experience (if necessary)
